This month's meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 7th. The meeting will feature Julie Pack, DVM. She will present on "When Disaster Strikes"
Bio: Dr. Julie Pack
Dr. Pack is a 10-year Army veteran, currently stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky with the 72nd Medical Detachment Veterinary Service Support. Her unit is one of several preparing to assume a yearlong mission of on-call responsibility for domestic disaster response. She completed a year long internship with the Veterinary Emergency Team at TAMU from 2022-2023 where she deployed with the team in response to Hurricane Ian in Fort Myers, FL and the Peryton, TX tornado. As a vet student she was a charter member of the Student Veterinary Emergency Response Team and has always had a passion for disaster preparedness education.
Dr. Pack completed her MPH with an Epidemiology focus at TAMU in 2022, her DVM from TAMU in 2014, an MS in Biology from Tarleton State University in 2010, an MS in Reproductive Physiology from TAMU in 2008 and her BS in Animal Science from Tarleton State University in 2006.
In her spare time Dr. Pack still helps maintain the family herd of Longhorn cattle on the ranch in Dublin, TX. She has a couple Nubian show goats, three house cats, a couple hives of honey bees, 7 chickens (and Tallulah the turkey) and a Mustang gelding.
